The Postgraduate Medical Institute of Tasmania Inc has been contracted by the Department of Health and Human Services to develop and implement a new process that assesses OTDs communication and clinical skills prior to appointment and provide newly arrived OTDs with appropriate orientation and educational support
Junior Medical Officers and Medical Error Project 2005 - Final Report
This project will conduct a gap analysis of the information available to junior doctors on medical error. The project will also consider the communication and management of medical error within the postgraduate year (PGY1) 1 + 2 (PGY2) contexts.

Overseas Trained Doctors Project 2004 - 2005
The Postgraduate Medical Institute of Tasmania recognises education, training and support of Overseas Trained Doctors working in Tasmanian hospitals as an area requiring support. PMIT and the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services jointly convened an Overseas Trained doctors Symposium in 2001 to identify areas of most concern. The Pilot Overseas Trained Doctors Project was established during late 2003 with Government funding and was coodinated by the Postgraduate Medical Institute of Tasmania Inc.
