PMCT Organisational Structure

PMCT consists of a Council, a Board, a Committee and several Subcommittees.

The Council draws its membership from a wide variety of stakeholders, including the Medical Council of Tasmania, the Specialist Colleges, Department of Health & Human Services and the University of Tasmania Faculty of Health Sciences. The Council meets yearly and receives financial reports and accounts.

The governing body of the Council is the Board, which is an operational body drawn from Council members. The Board is responsible for the strategic direction of the Council and meets 4 times a year. It receives regular reports from the Committee and Subcommittees.

The Committee is made up of the Chair (a senior clinician with expertise in medical education appointed by the Board), the Deputy Chair, the Chairs of each Sub Committee, a JMO representative, and the PMCT secretariat.

There are 3 subcommittees of the Council: Education, Accreditation and IMG, which meet 3-4 times per year and provide reports to the Committee and the Board.
