This is the name of a health and wellbeing guide for junior medical officers at the Royal Hobart Hospital. |
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away"
The meaning behind this old saying is to eat healthily!
This can be expanded to encourage one to use strategies to improve health and wellbeing and say well.
Why develop a health and wellbeing guide for doctors? It is well known that doctors suffer more from stress-related problems compared to other members of the community. Doctors advise their patients to take care of themselves when they feel stressed about life. Sometimes doctors need to take their own advice and this is where the guide can be of assistance.
The 'health and wellbeing guide' is for doctors and gives strategies to improve
their health and wellbeing and stay well, with an emphasis on relevant and local information and services.
The guide comprises information about:
- Self care
- Ways to stay well
- Support for Junior Medical Officers
- Relevant resources and contacts
For convenience, the guide is stored on a USB flash drive, but it can be downloaded onto a PC or laptop, or printed if preferred. To download the guide, click here
